The golf club started its 2017 Christmas activities by holding for the first time a Christmas themed Evening of “Luxury & Indulgence “.Organised by Caroline Glenn the evening saw the clubhouse full of 45 luxury stalls selling a variety of products and services. These included handbags, scarves, beauty products, clothing, beauty treatments, gifts, jewellery, lanterns, greetings cards, flowers, chocolates and handmade crackers.
There was a great atmosphere as members and guests mingled around the stalls with music played on the trombone by local musician Gary Stevens.
The evening ended with a raffle with 22 luxury prizes containing a variety of products as well as vouchers for local businesses.
The event raised £2,100 to be shared by two charities “Mind Newark ” the local branch of the mental health charity and the “Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance”. Captain Colin Mason commented “ the evening was a great success and I must thank Caroline Glenn for all her hard work in organising the stalls and providing such an array of raffle prizes”.
