Belton Park Golf Club welcomes new Captains

News Competitions Clubhouse Course Professional Events

Belton Park Golf Club marked the end of one year and the beginning of another at the various annual meetings in the first two weeks of November, when their new captains(pictured) took office.

New Captains

Colin Mason took over the reins as Gents Captain, Paula Marshall as Lady Captain and Howard Lockwood as Seniors Captain. Having served a year as respective vice captains, they are all honoured to be Captain and are now looking forward to a good year of golf, enjoyment and friendship.

Colin Mason originates from Timberland in mid Lincolnshire and moved to Grantham 6 years ago after spending 30 years in London. A left handed golfer for 30 years, he has chosen “Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance “as his charity for the year. He comments” the course is tremendous with all 27 holes different and set within a beautiful National Trust landscape and where you see an abundance of wildlife including fallow deer.”

Lady Captain Paula Marshall started playing golf at Belton Park 11 years ago. She comments” We have a great ladies section and I enjoy our ladies, mixed and friendly matches with other clubs. My charity for the year is The Pancreatic Research Fund.”

Howard Lockwood comments” it is an honour and a privilege to become Seniors Captain. I have played golf for 25 years, been a member at Belton Park for 3 years and enjoy every aspect of the club. The Fun Golf competitions and matches with other clubs are the highlights of being in the Seniors. I have also chosen the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance as my charity”.

The golf club has in the past hosted many National, Midland and County Tournaments and is proud to be in 2018, the venue of England Golf Senior Women’s Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship.

Belton Park Golf Club with 27 holes is one of the premier parkland courses in the East Midlands. It is a course that remains in superb condition all year round and whilst demanding, is always fair and enjoyable. There is also an excellent clubhouse with all catering facilities and a warm welcome awaits either as a potential member or visitor.
