Over eighty ladies played in the Ladies Spring Open last Saturday. Many were from local clubs in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire but others had journeyed from Peterborough, Rugby and Ormande Fields Golf Club in Derbyshire to play in this 4 ball better ball competition.
The course was in superb condition. The greens were described by one competitor as playing ‘very true’. However, during the course on the day only 6 ladies managed to score a ‘2’ on the par 3 holes, indicating that the greens, although ‘true’ were challenging.
All the winning scores were in the 40s. The winners with 44points were Sally Knight and Kathleen Bell from Belton Park.
1st Place – Sally Knight & Kathleen Bell – 44 Points
2nd – Sheila Mason & Gill Briggs – 43 Points (O.C.B.)
3rd – Loraine Howd & Wendy Kerry – 43 Points
4th – Helen Lowe & Doreen Brown – 42 Points
5th – Ruth Simpson & Joan Young – 41 Points
6th – Jackie Wilson & Kylie Bullimore – 40 Points (O.C.B.)
Congratulations to the prize winners and thank you to all who took part in the competition, I hope you all had an enjoyable day and we look forward to seeing you next year.
