The mixed team started the 2017 season with a visit to Spalding on Friday 28th April. The format as always at Spalding was the rarely played Greensomes, however despite this the visitors came away with a creditable draw.
The Spalding course, which is in the process of upgrading the bunkers, was in good condition and whilst cool there were the odd periods of sunshine.

After a delightful meal, Spalding Club Captain Michael Crampton welcomed the Belton team, with Vice Captain Colin Mason responding.
The mixed team also played Radcliffe on Trent at home on the afternoon of Sunday 30th April. The weather was fine but the players had to cope with a very strong wind. Unfortunately, Radcliffe’s organiser Phillip Holmes suffered an accident before the match and was unable to play. Thankfully nothing was broken and he expects to play again within the month. This meant that James & Pam Wiggins had no opponents.
This may have disturbed the away team as Belton Park recorded a comprehensive 6-1 victory.
