34 Seniors played in Round #8 of the Jack Whiteley Trophy over the Ancaster Course. The competition was played in a bitterly biting wind which did nothing to cool the ‘red hot’ competition.
With an unusual format; teams of 3 with the best score counting on each of the first 3 holes, the second best score counting on the next 3 holes and eventually the worst score counting for the next 3 holes (repeat over the next 9 holes). Team scores were very close with 8 team scoring between 30 & 32 points. With a superb score of 34 points the team of Derek Little, John McNally & Peter Brooks came out very worthy winners
1st Derek Little, John McNally & Peter Brooks 34points
2nd Mansfield Barker, Nigel Beaumont, Howard Lockwood & Brian Mole 32points
3rd Alfie Kent, Philip Willcock & Tony Noble 32points
4th Harry Paice, Willie Badraun & David Martin 31points
5th Alan Addis, Bill Brogan & Fred Williams 31points
6th Frank Overton, David Dobney & Norman Halliday 31points
7th Mike Collins, David Langley & Tony Davies 31points
