Seniors 'FUN GOLF' - Yorkshire Stableford December 8th 2015

The 4th FUN GOLF event took place on Tuesday 8th December with 10 Teams of 3 taking part in a Yorkshire Stableford competition. Once again a new format for most of the members with the best and worse Stableford score being added together determine the score for the team on that hole.

Strong winds and a few days on little rain meant that the Ancaster (1-9 & 19-27) combination could be used for the competition.
Winners on the day Les, Tony & David played out of the skins to record a score of 77 points for this format; the same can not be said for John, Brian & Steve!!!!

Results on the day
1st Les Johnson, Tony Noble & David Martin 77 points
2nd Colin Farrington, Phil Willcock & Peter Hawkins 71 points
3rd Mike Bower, Bill Brogan & Tony Davies 68 points (Count Back)
4th Norman Halliday, Mike Collins & Fred Williams 68 Points
5th David Langley, George Crowford & Keith Brown 64 Points
6th Nick Craft, Mike Goodacre & Willie Badrun 63 Points (Count Back)
7th Trevor Collis, Peter Brooks & John Newton 63 Points
8th Peter Rollings, Shaun Boney & Manny Barker 61 Points
9th David Dobney, Rick Alsbury & Howard Lockwood 60 Points
10th John McNally, Brian King & Steve White 51 Points

Points from this competition go towards the Jack Whiteley Trophy; 10 FUN GOLF events are held throughout the year with the best 6 individuals points going towards the Trophy.

The leaders of ‘Race to Jack Whiteley’ after 4 events
1st Place Tony Davies 6 points
2nd Place George Crowford 12 points
3rd Place David Dobney 14 points

Very little change at the head of the leader board with Tony holding a healthy lead; the competition takes a rest now until the New Year when I’m sure renewed efforts will be made by members to overtake Tony.

Alan Addis extended a warm welcomed another new member Brian King to the Seniors and hoped he enjoyed his golf with us.
The next competition for the Seniors is on Tuesday 15th Dec and will be the 4 Club Competition; this competition traditionally takes place over 15 holes and is followed by Minced Pies, Mulled Wine & Sausage Rolls. Once the refreshments have been taken the Seniors in good voice will then take part in our annual Carol Singing session. The day is what the Seniors section is all about; friendly competition & enjoying ‘apers golf’ together.
Those who can not get to the golf are more than welcome to join us in the festivities.
