The 1st team drew 3-3 away at Spalding…keeping our chances of winning the league alive…a big home win against Blankney on the 30th is now required to retain their title.
Belton Park 2nd Team took another big step towards retaining the league title with a pulsating win over champion contenders Blankney. After 9 holes there was nothing to choose between the two sides but once again Belton came through strongly to win the match 4.5 to 1.5. The captain of the side David Price and his partner David Pretorius set the tone with a hard fought draw against a very strong Blankney Pair. Father and son Mark and Sam Sutton followed suit with a last putt win on the 18th. The match was then effectively sealed with the Belton third pair of Seymour Bailey and James Marshall winning more comfortably than the 2&1 score suggested. Although the next Belton pair of Kev Sheppard and Mike Hallam were beaten 4&3, the final 2 Belton pairs of the ever reliable Nigel Gibson and Tony Gleave and Bob Chapple and Mick Sims both won.
