Belton beat weather and Woodhall to reach 50th Anniversary finals of Elsham Foursomes.
Friday 27th June saw Belton take on Woodhall Spa in the Elsham Foursomes. In this special 50th year of the competition, in which 3 pairs from either side compete to form an aggregate match score.
An afternoon downpour almost put pay to the fixture, but thanks to some sterling work on the greens by the members watching, the course was presented in its normal excellent condition.
The match was a tight affair through the first nine holes with both sides having dominant periods of play. As all three matches passed through the turn it was hard to pick the winner, but with a fantastic display of golf over the closing holes it was Belton that ran out comfortable winners.
The Belton side captained by Nigel Harris will now go forward to the finals day on Sunday August 17th where they will be joined by teams from Carholme, Sleaford and Kenwick Park.
