Belton Park’s annual Charity Am-Am celebrated its 25th anniversary in style with a record entry of 48 teams – and raised more than £6,000 for local charities.
Blessed with good weather and a course in excellent condition, the 18-hole Am-Am and nine-hole Texas Scramble competitions were both keenly contested and resulted in some impressive scores.
Club captain Steve Glenn presented the prizes, after which a special presentation was made to Paul Adams in recognition of his team’s loyal support at all 25 events.
Later, Tony Snarey conducted an auction with some tasy sport-related lots on offer, and a draw sponsored by The Reindeer Inn, Long Bennington, raised £650 for Age UK.
Event sponsors included Belton Park professional Simon Williams, Brakes, James Aimer, and Turnbulls of Sleaford, with contributions helping to raise in excess of £6,000 for charities including Age UK, British Heart Foundation, Diabetes UK and the NSPCC.
